I am from Worthing and decided some time that I wished to relocate to the city. This of course required a new job and home which I am happy to say that I found in the same location. I am currently working in a pub in the famous Brighton South Lanes and loving it. The job is only for from March until September and then I will have the next job of figuring out what I am doing after that. This will probably be my last bar job I hope. I think I am ready to move on and gain a career that throws a bit more money at me - I'm thinking of teaching (scary thought).
Here are a few sights that I have seen around Brighton
The old fisherman's arches now turned into boutique shops and an old boot.
Brighton Pier in all its glory
The burnt down West Pier, now iconic of Brighton
(and a very cool photo effect that I do not know how I achieved)
It's very strange to see the beautiful Taj mahal style building by the sea and it really is a sight to behold. At night it is all lit up, as you can see in the image below.
So, what with me working in a pub and all, it is mighty tricky to get a weekend off. As predicted I am not having father's day off but I did however (and rather luckily) get last Sunday off.
The day was sunny and we decided to spend it lounging around the family garden (my favorite place in the whole world). We put on a BBQ (that would be Mother, Father, two Brothers and myself) and then my father and I went up for a walk into the nearby countryside, finding it less windy among the expanse of the fields. Oh and I got a great shot of a windmill.
My old dad and below is the windmill.
Finally, we participated in a much loved tradition - the cream tea. Mother made scones and we sat around having a jolly good time in the summer house gorging on cake. It was a most excellent day.
